OnePlus 8 Pro is receiving a new OxygenOS update in India and Europe. This update includes a few fixes, camera optimization, and August Android security patch to the phone. On the other hand, a similar update is on schedule for the 8 Pro smartphones in North America soon.
Both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro launched earlier this year. The company is working on an Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update for both of these smartphones.

The OnePlus’s forum announcements state that the OxygenOS 10.5.12 update in India and 10.5.11 update in Europe is rolling out right now. OxygenOS 10.5.12 for North America will roll out soon. However, this new update will start with some select users and then go broader in a few days.
Key changes in the update for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro
- Fixes the overlapping character display issue with Ambient display.
- Fixes known issues and improves system stability.
- Updates Android Security Patch to 2020.08.
- Optimizes the shooting effect with the front camera.

OnePlus 8 Pro Specs
It features a 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display and has up to 120Hz refresh rate with a 19.8:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In terms of optics, OnePlus 8 Pro has a quad rear camera setup that houses a 48-MP primary Sony IMX689 sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor, a 48-MP third sensor, and a 5-MP camera sensor. For selfies, you have a 16-MP camera lens.
It packs a 4,510mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A) and Warp Charge 30 Wireless charging support.
The fixes in the new update are not big but small and incremental.
