  • Thursday was the official Indian launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 (March 17). Compared to Xiaomi Redmi 10’s worldwide counterpart, the new Redmi phone is an entirely different model. Redmi 10C, which made its debut in Nigeria earlier this week, looks to have been renamed.

    The Xiaomi Redmi 10 India model has a waterdrop-style notch and has dual rear cameras as standard. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC powers the phone. Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition, Tecno Spark 8 Pro and Realme C35 are Redmi 10’s main competitors.

    Price and availability

    The primary 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 costs Rs. 10,999 in India. The phone is also available in a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which costs Rs. 12,999. From 12:00 noon on March 24, Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home and select offline retail shops will begin selling the Redmi 10 smartphone. Green Caribbean, black Midnight and blue Pacific are just some of the colour options.

    HDFC Bank credit cards and credit card EMIs are eligible for an Rs. 1,000 immediate discount on the Redmi 10’s launch offerings.

    As of 2020, Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 sub-brand will be available in India for Rs. 8,999 (US$130). Instead, the Redmi 10C made its debut in Nigeria at a starting price of NGN 78,000 (approximately Rs. 14,300) for a 4GB + 64GB model.

    The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 20.6:9 aspect ratio and 400 nits of peak brightness running Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top. Protective Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the collection. In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, the Xiaomi Redmi 10 has an Adreno 610 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The built-in storage may also extend the RAM by up to 2GB.

    This phone has a dual-camera arrangement on the back, with the primary sensor being 50 MP with an f/1.8 lens and the portrait sensor is 2 MP. An LED flash is used in conjunction with the camera configuration.

    The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. The internal storage on the Redmi 10 may be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card inserted into a designated slot on the device.

    With the Redmi 10, you’ll be able to connect through 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphones. A proximity sensor, accelerometer, and ambient light are all on board. In addition, the rear of the phone has a fingerprint sensor.

    Xiaomi’s Redmi 10 smartphone is powered by a 6,000mAh battery that can be charged at 18W. However, the charger that comes with it can only provide charging power up to 10W. There has a 203-gram weight and dimensions of 169.59×76.56×9.13mm.
