Xiaomi has begun rolling out HyperOS 4 beta to select global smartphones. The company first announced the HyperOS 4 rollout in August, with a refreshed glass-style interface, new customisation options, and several AI-focused features. After opening beta registrations last week, Xiaomi has now released the first beta build to eligible testers.

The initial rollout remains limited to a small group of smartphones. Users who have joined the beta programme can manually check for the update through their phone settings if they have not received an update notification yet.

For the first phase, Xiaomi is offering the HyperOS 4 beta to three devices:

Eligible users can head to Settings > About phone and tap the HyperOS version number to check for the beta update.

The HyperOS 4 beta rollout programme will expand soon. Xiaomi has confirmed that more smartphones will become eligible from September 17.

Xiaomi has not confirmed whether additional devices will join the beta programme after this second phase. The company has also not provided a specific timeline for the stable HyperOS 4 release.

What To Expect From HyperOS 4

HyperOS 4 introduces a refreshed visual design built around a glass style interface. Xiaomi is also focusing on customization and AI powered features with the new software version.

The update is expected to bring changes across the user interface, system experience and smart features. However, since this is still a beta release, some features could change before Xiaomi pushes the final version.

The HyperOS 4 beta rollout gives selected users an early look at Xiaomi's next major software update. Beta builds can include bugs and unfinished features, so users who depend on their phones for daily work may want to consider this before installing the update.

Xiaomi is expected to share more details about supported devices and the stable release schedule as testing continues.
