The Xiaomi 18 Fold launch is now just days away, and the company is preparing to introduce its new flagship foldable in China on September 7. Xiaomi confirmed the launch date at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The timing is interesting because the phone will arrive only two days before Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra.
A new leak has now revealed the expected price and several key specifications of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. While the foldable will remain a premium device, it could still cost less than Apple’s upcoming Ultra foldable. Here's what we know so far.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch: Price And Design Details
According to leaks, the Xiaomi 18 Fold launch will price this phone above CNY 10,000, which is roughly Rs. 1.40 lakh. This would make it more expensive than the previous Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which started at CNY 8,999.
The phone will use a passport style design that aims to offer a larger display without making the device difficult to carry. Xiaomi has also teased a red colour option, which could be one of the special editions.

Key design and display details include:
• 5.38-inch cover display
• 7.58-inch inner foldable display
• Passport style compact design
• Deep red colour option
• Horizontal rear camera module
• New “dragon bone” hinge
The hinge has reportedly undergone simulation based durability testing. Xiaomi is also working with Leica for the camera system, suggesting that photography will be a major focus.
Xring O3 Chip And 6,000mAh Battery Tipped
The Xiaomi 18 Fold could bring a major hardware change compared with earlier Mix Fold models. Instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Xiaomi is expected to use its own Xring O3 flagship chipset.
The phone could also become one of the first smartphones with LPDDR6 RAM, which should improve performance and multitasking.
