If we recall, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K40 series a few months ago in China. It launched as one of the cheapest flagship phone families of the year. However, it looks like the company is working on a follow-up series – Redmi K50. Recently, Lu Weibing took to Weibo to ask users what features they’d like to see from “future K50 products”. Moreover, he does not reveal any confirmed features for these devices. Another leak hints at the upgrades we can expect with the K50 series.

Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has also revealed the Redmi K50 series will improve on the predecessor with regards to fast charging, video/imaging, and screen quality as well. To recall, the Redmi K40 features a 33W fast-charging support, meaning the successor could get 67W or faster-charging speeds.

Moreover, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes with a 67W solution and it is possible that Redmi could carry the same over to the Redmi K50 series. There are chances that Redmi could reserve the faster system for the Pro version while the standard version could continue to get the 33W solution.
Meanwhile, the other thing which is expecting is an upgrade in its display. The Redmi K40 series got an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a Samsung E4 panel. It is expected that the Redmi K50 series could get an even better-quality display similar to the Mi 11 series. Although, all of this news, particularly hints that the series is under development. Moreover, we can expect it to launch at the end of this year.

On the other hand, Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, meanwhile, is expected to launch as the Poco F3 GT in India and could rely on the Dimensity 1200 chip. The phone could launch before September. So, we can expect this Redmi K50 to launch as a rebrand in India too.
