    Oppo Foldable Smartphone May Launch in December

Rumours of an OPPO Foldable smartphone being in the works have been there for quite some time now. The brand mentioned about launching a foldable smartphone of its own a few years back. But this is the first time the rumours are solidifying as evidences and leaks are surfacing. Few weeks ago, rumours of the launch of the foldable phone happening in November surfaced. However, there was no confirmation from anywhere.

Now, the smartphone by OPPO is becoming more and more of a reality. This is mostly because of the fact that it has been increasingly appearing on leaks and reports as of late. Now according to a tipster on Weibo, the upcoming foldable from OPPO which is codenamed “Peacock”. It also mentions that Oppo foldable smartphone should launch next month. In addition, the post also mentions another high-end device with codename “Butterfly” – it could also launch somewhere next year.

Furthermore, the report adds that the upcoming foldable device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Whereas, the “Butterfly” codenamed smartphone, which should launch early next year could be a Find X4 series smartphone. It should be powering on the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset.

According to Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OPPO foldable smartphone will come with a 7.8-inch or an 8-inch display. In addition, the display has also been tipped to come with a 2K resolution. Moreover, we will also be seeing an AMOLED display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate.

On the processor front, the OPPO foldable phone specs will include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. So indeed, the OPPO foldable will be a top of the class premium flagship smartphone, just like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Digital Chat Station also tips the upcoming OPPO foldable phone to come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Now, this could be because an in-display fingerprint sensor would definitely not be an ideal choice on a foldable flagship device.

When it comes to software, the foldable phone will reportedly run on Android 11 OS with the ColorOS 12 custom skin on top. Another thing to note here is that OPPO has recently announced their Android 12-based ColorOS 12. So, there is a possibility that the foldable flagship could run on this combo instead.
