Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 9 for Galaxy update to more of its flagship devices. The latest rollout brings Android 17 to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. Samsung has initially released the update in South Korea, with availability expected to expand to other markets in the coming days and weeks.
The update follows Samsung's earlier rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series in September and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 last month. The company first introduced One UI 9 on its newer foldable phones in July.
One UI 9 For Galaxy S24 And Foldable Phones
Galaxy S24 series users who participated in the beta program will receive a much smaller update compared with those moving directly from One UI 8.5.

Here are the reported update sizes:
• Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Around 500MB for beta users
• Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Around 3.8GB from One UI 8.5
• Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6: Around 408MB for beta users
• Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6: Around 3.5GB from One UI 8.5
The rollout currently starts in Samsung's home market, South Korea. Samsung is expected to make the stable update available in more regions as the rollout progresses.

The One UI 9 for Galaxy update is based on Android 17 and brings Samsung's latest software experience to its previous generation flagship phones and foldables. Users should keep enough free storage available before downloading the larger update, particularly those upgrading directly from One UI 8.5.
