Telecom equipment provider Nokia announced on Monday that it will enhance and expand Vodafone Idea’s optical transport network in major metro and circle regions across India. Nokia is one of three vendors chosen by Vodafone Idea for its ambitious Rs 30,000 crore network expansion initiative. The project will boost network capacity and upgrade infrastructure, ensuring support for the growing 4G data demand and the continued deployment of 5G. The upgrade will leverage Nokia’s advanced optical switching technology, incorporating a variety of products from its optical portfolio. This includes the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) platform and the CDC-F 2.0 wavelength switching technologies.
