Microsoft’s Surface Duo 2, which is expected to be launched in October, got its hardware specs leaked through a Geekbench benchmark listing. A video last month revealed the design for the Surface Duo 2 smartphone.

The Original Surface Duo had two PixelSense Fusion Displays to create one expansive 8.1-inch screen. However, the latest upcoming device boasts of two separate displays being held together by a 360-degree rotating hinge. This hinge allows people to use each screen individually or together, across a variety of modes.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2 Specifications

The Surface Duo had 6 GB RAM and ran on Android 10. According to the details revealed in the leak for the Geekbench listing, the Surface Duo 2 packs a RAM of 8GB. The device will run on Android 11 out of the box and might upgrade to Android 12 later on.

Unlike the old Surface Duo which used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, the new device will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC. The upcoming Surface Duo 2 will feature a machine learning and artificial intelligence-powered camera. The new camera experience will help in better image processing.

As for the scorings, the original Duo reached a 735 single-core score and a 2,678 multi-core score while the Surface Duo 2 scales 1,091 single-core and a 3,519 multi-core score.

With an expectation of the Duo 2 release date somewhere in October, a few more fresh devices might tag along with it for launches. The original Surface Duo with a dual-screen phone had a rather high price tag of $1,399 / £1,349, approx. ₹1.4 Lacs. What is left to see is whether Microsoft would keep the price range within similar limits or would it break this ceiling.
