Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon Reality Elite, its flagship platform for next-generation XR devices including AR/VR headsets and AI-powered smart glasses. Announced at Augmented World Expo 2026, the chip delivers a 60 per cent GPU boost, 30 per cent faster CPU, and a massive 160 per cent NPU improvement over the previous XR2+ Gen 2, reaching 48 TOPS of on-device AI performance.
The platform supports 4.4K resolution per eye at 90Hz, offers 20 per cent longer battery life, and runs up to 12°C cooler for lighter, more comfortable designs. First appearing in XREAL's Project Aura glasses later this year, Reality Elite enables real-time AI agents, photorealistic avatars, and advanced environmental tracking.
