Apple could soon make its upcoming iPhones more expensive. Fresh reports suggest that the company is preparing for the iPhones price hike for its next-generation iPhones, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to cost more than their predecessors.
Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone lineup in September, alongside its first book-style foldable iPhone and new Apple Watch and AirPods models. The reported price increase comes as smartphone makers face rising memory and storage component costs.
iPhones Price Hike: iPhone 18 Pro Price Could Rise by $100

According to leaks, Apple is considering higher prices for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The company is reportedly watching recent price increases from Samsung and Google, both of which have raised flagship smartphone prices by around $100 in the US.
The iPhone 18 Pro could reportedly start at $1,199, which is around Rs 1.15 lakh before taxes and other local charges. That would represent a $100 increase over the Apple iPhone 17 Pro and roughly a 9 percent jump.

Apple could be looking at the following pricing direction:
- Apple iPhone 18 Pro: Around $1,199
- Possible increase: $100 over the previous generation
- Expected India premium: Around Rs 10,000, based on earlier reports
- Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max: Expected to receive a similar price increase
The reported hike could still keep Apple's flagship competitive against Samsung's Ultra models and Google's Pro lineup.
Rising Component Costs Could Drive The iPhones Price Hike
The main reason behind the expected iPhones price hike could be the sharp increase in DRAM and NAND memory costs. Apple recently raised prices of several MacBook and iPad models, although the iPhone 17 series was not affected.
The company could now pass some of the higher component costs on to iPhone buyers. Earlier reports also suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro could cost around Rs 10,000 more in India.
Other upcoming models, including the Apple iPhone 17, Apple iPhone Air and Apple iPhone 17e, could also see price increases, although Apple has not confirmed these claims.
For now, the reported prices remain unconfirmed. More details should emerge when Apple officially announces the new iPhone lineup next month.
