Previous leaks from the Google Pixel 9 series have revealed a great deal of information about the next phones. This includes the layout, updated camera features, and display details. We can now see more of the Tensor G4, the processor that will be powering Google’s upcoming flagship devices.
Google Pixel 9 Series To Use Tensor G4 Chipset, Benchmarks Leak
The leak reveals that the Tensor G4 has a 1+3+4 core design, with four energy-efficient Cortex-A520 cores, three mid-range Cortex-A720 cores, and the potent Cortex-X4 core serving as the principal core.

The 2+2+4 arrangement of the original Tensor and G2 and the 1+4+4 setup of the Tensor G3 are entirely different from this architectural plan. Moreover, It’s interesting to note that Google seems to be switching back from the Tensor G3’s nine-core CPU architecture to an octa-core one.
Pixel 9 Benchmark Scores
All of the devices achieved over a million points on AnTuTu in terms of benchmarks. The Google Pixel 9 Pro received 1,148,452 points, the Pixel 9 basic variant received 1,016,167 points, and the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL received 1,176,410.

AnTuTu gives the base Google Pixel 8 about 900,000 points, thus the performance increase on the Google Pixel 9 is not that great.
However, these are preliminary benchmarks conducted on hardware with pre-release software. There is still more software to be tuned and optimised, which should improve the phone’s overall performance.
