Flipkart is set to start Flipkart food delivery very soon. The company plans to begin in Bengaluru around August 15. This will be the first city. Flipkart wants to give customers one more easy way to order food. It also wants to help restaurants with lower fees.
Right now Zomato and Swiggy control most of the market. They charge restaurants between 16% and 30%. Flipkart will charge only about 10%. That is a big difference. Rapido’s Ownly already showed that lower fees can work. In just a few months, Ownly reached over 40,000 daily orders in Bengaluru and took 7-10% of the local market. Flipkart is now entering the same city with a similar low-cost idea.
