Cyber-security researchers discovered a suspected data breach in the Chinese-language short video app TikTok on Monday. Breach exposed the personal information of over 2 billion users. According to many cyber security specialists, it was “a breach of an unprotected server that permitted access to TikTok’s storage, which they believe held the users’ personal information.”

Following a large breach of the company’s database, hackers allegedly acquired information from roughly 2 billion TikTok members. While the video hosting firm denies the allegations, cybersecurity experts disagree about the incident.

It went on to explain that a sample of the extended data had been analyzed. They had also sent out an email informing their subscribers and private clients about the communications.
Even the Microsoft 365 Defender Research Team discovered a flaw in the TikTok app for Android that could have allowed hackers to steal confidential information and short-form videos from millions of users by clicking on a malicious link, potentially compromising multiple user accounts with a single click.

Finally, the Chinese corporation has resolved the vulnerability that would have created various issues and may have resulted in severe harm to its consumers. Last week, the business made a statement regarding the hack. Stating that “the attackers might have taken a hold of the users by hijacking without anyone’s notice merely by a single click.”
