New hardware upgrades include a high dynamic range (HDR) gyroscope. Also it consists of a new high g-force accelerometer. These are noted as being included in every model of the iPhone 14 series. Apple claims that to make this new function as precise as possible. It analysed real-world driving data and collision data from the public domain.

What does the Apple Crash Detection System do?
The new high g-force accelerometer is installed in the new Apple iPhone 14 series. These features will be in Apple iPhone 14, Apple iPhone 14 Plus, Apple iPhone 14 Pro, and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. They all are capable of measuring accelerations and decelerations up to 256G.
The provided HDR gyroscope can detect drastic changes in a car’s orientation. The barometer in iPhone 14 series phones is also set up to recognise pressure fluctuations. The ones that might be the result of airbag activation.

How does it work?
