How to play Wordle game?

Wordle is a simple yet addictive game. In this game, all you have to do is guess a word of the day in six tries. Each word is of six characters, and you’ll get six attempts. Now, apart from this, there are a few simple rules.

  • You have to enter a minimum of five characters of word.
  • This word must be a vaild word and should not be anything random.

Once you have guessed the word, simply type it and press enter. You’ll immediately see three colour boxes. Green, Yellow, and Grey.

  1. Green Box: The green box means that the syllable is a correct guess, and it is in the right position.
  2. Yellow Box: The yellow box means that the syllable is in the wrong position, but it is a correct guess.
  3. Grey Box: This means that the syllable is not right, in terms of position and guess.

FINAL RULE: Only one word per day. This means that you can play this game once, and the next word will be shown to you next day.

Best Strategy to Play & win Wordle Game Everytime

Before we begin, you need to realise that there is no immediate shortcut to winning this game. You can’t guess the wordle of the day in one try because there is no hint from the game what the word would be. So, you have to begin from scratch. However, a few strategies are working somewhat fine with the Wordle game.

  1. In your first guess, try to use the word that has many vowels (A,E,I,O,U). This is an excellent method since, every six letter word has some sort of vowel in it. In case it doesn’t work, you’ll still have some yellow and grey boxes to continue with.
  2. The next step is keeping a follow up. Once you have few yellow boxes and few green boxes, try to jumble the word and look for the perfect word.

Apart from that, I’m not telling my secret recipe. Sorry!

Update as of Feb 1, 2022

Wordle, has now been acquire by The New York Times, which plans to include it as part of its own brand of word games, The New York Times Games.

Once Wordle transfers to the New York Times site, it will be “free to new and existing players,” and Wardle says he’s working with the Times to maintain players’ previous victories and streak statistics. Though the New York Times’ decision leaves the door open for Wordle to be paid content in the future, this is not a certainty.

It’s been “a little overwhelming” for Wardle to manage such a well-known game, he says in his announcement of the sale, which the New York Times claims is for “an undisclosed price in the low seven figures.” Wardle is the sole person responsible for operating the whole game.

Jonathan Knight, general manager for The New York Times Games, said in the Times’ announcement that the acquisition, “We could not be more thrilled to become the new home and proud stewards of this magical game, and are honoured to help bring Josh Wardle’s cherished creation to more solvers in the months ahead.” In addition to the New York Times Crossword, the Mini-Crossword, Spelling Bee, Letter Boxed, Tiles, and Vertex, Wordle joins a lineup of other popular daily puzzles, including Wordle.

Since both Wardle and Palak Shah had been addicted to word games (such as the Times’ Spelling Bee and crosswords) during the epidemic, Wardle initially invented Wordle as a present for his companion, Palak Shah. It was first made available to the public in late 2020, but its popularity has skyrocketed since then, owing in part to the viral emoji messages that enable players to share their daily puzzle results without giving away any spoilers.

Despite Wardle’s efforts to keep Wordle a free web-based software, the programme was swiftly cloned by a slew of imitators looking to cash in on the game’s growing popularity. According to sources, Apple soon removed such applications from its App Store, but Wordle’s success has also boosted the popularity of older, unrelated word games (such as Wordle!).
