As you may have already guessed from the title, this post will be all about my Apple iPhone 8 repair review. Today, I am here to spill some beans, even if it means to take the truth with a pinch of salt.

Booking Cashify Repair Service Online

I had an Apple iPhone 8 lying around for quite some time and despised using it. The screen had some ugly cracks, and the power button was damaged and loosened. (Thanks to my repeated carelessness with the device)

I wanted a home mobile phone repair service, and the nearest Cashify store was also a little far from my area, so I booked it online using the Cashify mobile app.

1. After downloading the Cashify app, I signed up using my mobile number. It was easy peasy.
2. I clicked on the repair section and searched for my phone model.
3. Since my mobile phone was white, I clicked on it.
4. I placed the coupon code, filled in my address, and specified my preferred time and date.

Voila! My repair service was booked in no time. I got an email and text about the confirmation and order details.

The iPhone 8 screen replacement cost that was showing was Rs. 3,159.

Of course, I wouldn’t let it pass without getting a discount. Before checking out, I placed the code ‘TECH25′ in the coupon code section. The final price was reduced to Rs. 2,849 (Rs. 310 savings, woohoo!). But then, I haven’t paid yet.

Communication Errr…

In two days, a Cashify agent called back, asking for confirmation of the repair service. I confirmed it. So far, my iPhone 8 repair experience has gone well. The Cashify technician was supposed to visit on July 18, 2024, as per my scheduled date and time.

After that, there was no communication from their end on the day of the visit. I didn’t know what to assume if they were arriving at all. Sadly, they didn’t. I called customer care as I didn’t have the number of the executive visiting.

Customer support asked for my order ID and explained that they tried reaching out, but my number wasn’t available. I don’t know if the fault was from their end or if my network was weak because that day, it was raining badly, and I was indeed facing some network issues. Well, this miscommunication led to rescheduling it, as my previous order was cancelled. This time, I got the number of the agent, too!

Finally, they texted and called me, which assured me that they were actually reattempting it. The agent asked to confirm my location and arrived as discussed on the date I had decided.

The Apple iPhone 8 Repair Experience With Cashify!

As soon as the technician came in, he got down to work, laid out his heat-insulated silicon mat on the table, and placed his tool kit. He carefully disassembled the cracked iPhone screen from the device with his tool.

Then, he took out a brand new screen from a sealed box and assembled the parts with precision, attaching the screen to the device.

On enquiring, he told us that the screen he had attached was not the original Apple screen, but he assured us that it was a premium-quality screen that otherwise came in different quality grades. The original screen costs way more, so it is not feasible for the customer.

To be honest, that made sense, as these high-quality screen replacements function as well as the original. They aren’t so prone to scratches and even cost less. Why should I pay more?

Finally, I made the payment through the app itself. The whole process was done and dusted in 35 minutes. (That was quick!)

iPhone 8 Repair Review: Overall Verdict

Although the miscommunication was a hitch in my repair experience, the final result made it all worthwhile. They made up for it with repeated follow-ups later on. My Apple iPhone 8 looks so fresh, and the display quality improved greatly.

On top of that, I got a one-month warranty on the screen in case I broke it again. Overall, it was a safe, convenient, and pocket-friendly repair experience, and I couldn’t complain much about my iPhone 8 repair experience.
