Google Pixel 5A
Google Pixel 5A Launch in India
After a long period of inactivity during which we wondered if Google had forsaken its midrange lineup, the firm has quietly introduced the Pixel 5a 5G. Despite the absence of a 90Hz display and wireless charging, the Google Pixel 5a 5G is almost identical to last year’s Pixel 5. It’s powerful enough for most jobs, has excellent cameras, and ultimately has a long-lasting battery. Let’s get started to know what it has got for the users.
Google Pixel 5A price in India
Google Pixel 5a’s release date in India has not yet been disclosed. The Pixel 5a India launch has yet to be approved by Google, but it will take place nonetheless. The Pixel 4a went on sale in September of last year, and the Pixel 5a India is expected to follow suit in September of this year. It’s only accessible in the United States and Japan. Pixel 5a 5G from Google has a USD 449 price tag (around Rs 33,300). Pre-orders for the Pixel 5a are now only accessible in the United States and Japan. The actual pricing and availability will be updated once the smartphone enters the Indian smartphone market.
In terms of availability, Google confirmed that the phone will be available in the United States and Japan. While this does not guarantee that it will only be available in those countries, it does probably indicate that it will be available elsewhere. It’s conceivable that Google intended to launch the phone in more countries but was hampered by the continuing worldwide chip scarcity. To be certain, we’ll have to wait till the phone is released.

Google Pixel 5A Design
Google Pixel 5a stands out from the crowd in terms of design. Google’s Pixel 5a 5G has the same overall proportions as the Google Pixel 4a, but it boasts a larger display. Although it weighs 6.5 ounces, the weight is well balanced. Last year’s Google Pixel 5 had a metal/plastic hybrid construction. Fortunately, the Pixel 5a follows suit in this regard. The unibody’s structure is reinforced with an aluminium diecast component encasing the plastic exterior.
In spite of the plastic body, the Pixel 5A retains the aluminium’s slickness and lustre on the outside. The 5a’s water resistance rating has been upgraded to IP67 as a result of the revamped design.
There’s a Gorilla Glass 3 cover over the OLED screen, and an in-call speaker cutout sits above it. The bezels are small and consistent all the way around, which results in a visually appealing design.
The phone’s controls are all located on the right side. The power key now has a wavy texture, and the volume rocker is located below it. In comparison to the Pixel 5, the 5a has a glossy metal power key. The trusty rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is easy to locate on the rear just by feeling around.
Google Pixel 5A Display
Google Pixel 5A 5G sports a 6.34-inch OLED display with a typical refresh rate of 60Hz. The screen’s resolution is 1080 by 2400 pixels, which equates to a pixel density of 413 pixels per inch. The inclusion of HDR video support is a welcome addition to such a brilliant and colourful display. Pixel 5a’s screen is DCI P3-tuned (Adaptive mode) and also has an sRGB (Natural mode) setting.
Unfortunately, this display’s refresh rate is restricted to 60 Hz and does not support a high refresh rate. The lack of this function isn’t very troubling, but considering how common it is on mid-and entry-level smartphones, we sense a twinge of sadness.
Google Pixel 5A Processor
To keep things simple, Google used the same midrange processor as was used in the Pixel 5. The 7nm-based Snapdragon 765G strikes a good mix between performance and economy. Only sub-6GHz 5G is supported by the integrated X52 modem on this chipset. With 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage, the Pixel 5a 5G follows in the footsteps of its predecessors.
The Pixel 5A 5G ships with Android 11. An upgrade to Android 12 will be available shortly for the Pixel 5A 5G, which is currently in beta testing. Google’s voice recording app is a standout feature of the Pixel 5A 5G. Pre-installed on the device, this app converts audio files into text even when the device is not connected to the internet. This feature makes use of Google’s powerful speech-to-text capabilities, as well as cloud storage, by allowing users to save recordings to Google Drive.
Google Pixel 5A Camera
Google Pixel 5A camera hardware offers nothing new, which may or may not be a disappointment depending on your perspective. The Pixel 5a 5G has the same dual-camera system as its predecessor, the Pixel 5. It includes a 12.2MP primary camera sensor with OIS and Dual Pixel phase detection autofocus. The second camera is a 16MP 119-degree ultra-wide lens. With an f/2.0 aperture, the front camera captures photos at 8MP resolution.
Google Pixel 5A can record normal video in 1080p@30/60fps and 2160p@30/60fps, as well as slow motion in 1080p@120fps or 720p@240fps.
Google Pixel 5A Battery
The battery on this phone is significantly bigger than that of previous models. The 4,680 mAh battery in the Google Pixel 5A 5G works well with the Snapdragon 765G, which consumes less power. The 18W USB-C charger provided with the Pixel 5A 5G is similar to the ones included with previous Pixel devices.
Google Pixel 5A First Impressions
Google Pixel 5A costs $449, yet it offers the same experience as the Pixel 5 or Pixel 4A. It’s the first A-series Pixel to be water-resistant, and it has the largest battery of any Pixel to date. The phone’s large OLED screen, dual back cameras, and ample battery make it an excellent buy at this price point.
