Every part of the country is under lockdown with some areas sealed to prevent the spread. Although the respective governments of the states have established relief centres for both food and night.
Google India is working with the government to offer people access to the nearby food and night shelters and the information related to it is already available on Google Maps. Users with a smartphone or smart feature phone can access Google Maps or use the Google Search or Google Assistant to access nearby food and night shelters. Google India has mapped out all the relief centers on Google Maps already with more adding soon.

With the latest update in place, Vodafone Idea has issued a helpline number “0008009191000” that gives users access to Google Assistant without the internet. Simply connect using this number, select the languages which at the time are Hindi and English. Further, they can ask ‘Food/Night shelters in (city name)’ and the Assistant will answer back and that’s everything on a call with no internet access. Thus, this feature can be handy for those with feature phones or those with smartphones but no internet.

At the moment, Google Assistant helpline for relief shelter for Vodafone Idea users is available in 33 cities in India although more will be added soon. This feature is exceptionally important to those people with the internet as said above as well as those with 2G as well.
Google will be adding dedicated quick-access shortcuts on the Google Maps search bar so that users can simply select what they are looking for rather than going from east to west searching for something.
