Coronavirus Lockdown: Airtel Credits Rs. 10 Talktime, Extends Pre-Paid Validity Till April 17

The company is aforesaid it’ll be extending the validity of pre-paid packs and credit Talktime of Rs. 10 to its subscriber’s account in the next 48 hours.

Airtel has extended the validity of pre-paid packs until April 17, this implies that Airtel users can continue obtaining incoming calls even though their validity expires. Additionally, to the current validity, Airtel is additionally crediting Rs.10 to the pre-paid accounts of all the eighty million customers permits them to create calls or send necessary messages without worrying about the balance in their phones. The new initiatives have already been unrolled by Airtel and it ought to be activated in the next upcoming 48-hours.

“These 80 million customers effectively cover all underprivileged households on the Airtel Network. These special measures will particularly benefit migrant workers and daily wage earners who may have been impacted due to the nationwide lockdown to combat COVID-19,” Airtel said in a media release.

Airtel’s latest move comes shortly when the telecommunication administrative unit of India (TRAI) asked telcos to increase the validity of prepaid recharges. TRAI declared that telcos must come back up with measures to make sure customers have uninterrupted services throughout this 21-day imprisonment.

Airtel has known eighty million of its customers as low financial gain users. The company has but not processed on what basis it categorizes low financial gain subscribers. According to some sources, low financial gain users are known on the idea of average revenue per user (ARPU). The Airtel users who don’t meet the requirements will be eligible for the benefit.

Also, State-owned telecom operators such as BSNL have also extended validity period of the balance for the pre-paid users up to the next 5 days after the lockdown ends till April 20 along with offering Rs 10 additional Talktime even after zero balance, to enable users to stay connected with others during the 21-day emergency nationwide lockdown
