The month of March hasn’t seen a lot of smartphone launches and the market has been pretty dull for the most part. Some people blame this on the current Corona Virus situation in India and across the world, while the rest just place the anticipation on the future.

There were 7 main smartphone launches in the month of March from 5 major brands. Redmi and Realme have launched their much-awaited smartphones that see a major upgrade over the predecessors. Samsung has also launched its new Galaxy M21 smartphone which is a much-awaited update over the very successful Galaxy M20 that was launched a long time ago. So let’s have a look at all the smartphones launched in March 2020.

Redmi Note 9 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is an amazing smartphone, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, it comes with 8 Kryo 465 cores with up to 2.3GHz max frequency and uses the Spectra 350L ISP. The smartphone comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB internal storage options.

The optics on the smartphone are really good and consist of a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, there is also an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The camera setup includes a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera supports video recording in 4K at 30FPS and at FullHD up to 120FPS, there is also a super slow-mo option to record at 960FPS. The 16MP front shooter comes with a lot of selfie-oriented features and supports FullHD recording at 30FPS and slow-mo recording at up to 120FPS.

The smartphone uses a premium glass back design and has a 6.67-inch FullHD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a peak brightness of 450nits and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by a massive 5,020mAh battery and supports Type-C fast charging at 18W. The smartphone has two nano-SIM card slots and a microSD card slot, both the sims support VoLTE and VoWiFi.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset and comprises of 8 Kryo 465 cores, the smartphone comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. The primary rear camera on the smartphone is a 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the 8MP ultra-wide sensor has an f/2.2 aperture. There is also a dedicated macro sensor and a dedicated depth sensor in the camera package.

The Note 9 Pro Max supports 4K recording at 30FPS, FullHD recording at up to 120FPS and 720 ultra slow-mo at 960FPS. The front shooter is a 32MP sensor and supports FullHD recording at 30FPS and slow-mo recording at 120FPS. Even the Redmi Note 9 Pro max uses a FullHD+ display with a 6.67-inch size.

The display has a peak brightness of 450 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to prevent scratches and shattering. The battery on the smartphone is of 5,020mAh capacity and supports 33W fast charging via Type-C. The smartphone also comes with 2 nanoSIM card slots and 1 microSD card slot, both the Sim card slots support VoLTE and VoWiFi.

The Realme 6 smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset which is an octa-core processor with up to 2.05GHz clock speed. The smartphone comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options and 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. The smartphone uses a 6.5-inch FullHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth animations. It has a screen to body ratio of 90.5% and is protected by corning Gorilla Glass.

The primary camera on the smartphone is a 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, there is also an 8MP sensor with f/2.3 aperture and a dedicated Portrait lens and a dedicated Macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone supports video recording at 4K at 30FPS, at FullHD in 120FPS. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture supports video recording in FullHD. The battery on the smartphone is of 4,300mAh capacity and supports 30W fast charging. The device also has 2SIM slots with 1 microSD card slot and supports dual VoLTE.

The Realme 6 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset based on an 8nm manufacturing processor; it uses 8 Kryo 465 cores for processing. The device comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM options and 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. The smartphone comes with a slightly larger 6.6-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth animations.

The display has a screen to body ratio of 90.6% and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The primary camera is a Samsung GW1 sensor with 64MP resolution and f/1.8 aperture. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide lens with an 8MP resolution and f/2.3 aperture. The 12MP telephoto lens in the smartphone comes with f/2.5 aperture while the 2MP macro lens uses an f/2.4 aperture.

The smartphone supports 4K recording at 30FPS and FullHD recording at 120FPS. The front camera setup on the smartphone comprises of a primary 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture for ultra-wide captures.  The Realme 6 Pro comes with a 4,300mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging. The smartphone supports 2 SIM slots and 1 microSD card slot with support for VoLTE on both the sim cards.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy M20 which was a massive hit for the performance offered at the price point. This smartphone is powered by their in-house Samsung Exynos 9611 chipset features 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and 4 cores clocked at 2.3GHz. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone comes with a 6.4-inch display with a FullHD+ resolution and has a triple camera setup on the rear.

In terms of camera, the primary sensor is a 48MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, there is an 8MP resolution ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP resolution depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera on the smartphone is a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone supports 4K recording at 30FPS and 120FPS recording at FullHD resolution.  The battery on the smartphone is of 6,000mAh capacity and supports a proprietary fast charging. The smartphone comes with Dual SIM support with a microSD card slot, both the SIM cards support VoLTE and VoWiFi.

The Moto Razr smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor which is based on an octa-core chipset, it uses the Adreno 616 GPU and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary sensor having an f/1.7 aperture and an additional TOF 3D depth sensor.

The rear camera supports recording at 4K and at FullHD in 30FPS. The front camera is a 5MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and supports FullHD recording at 30FPS. The smartphone comes with two displays, the primary display is folding and measures 6.2-inches diagonally, the primary display has a resolution of 876 x 2142, the secondary display is a small 600 x 800 resolution panel measuring 2.7-inches. The smartphone comes with a 2,510mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

The Infinix S5 Pro smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 Chipset and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 6.6-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The primary camera has a 16MP sensor, 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera on the smartphone is a 32MP sensor in a pop-up mechanism. Both, the front and the rear cameras support FullHD recording. The battery on the smartphone is of 4,000mAh capacity and uses a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
