It claims to be 45 per cent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 44 per cent more efficent.The chip maker has opted for all performance core layout instead relying on a mixture of performance and power efficient cores.

    Snapdragon 8 Elite is also the first processor to support Unreal Engine 5.3 with Nanite Geometry so you can expect better graphics in games. It offers 40 per cent improvement when it comes to ray tracing in games.

    The new Hexagon NPU can perform AI tasks 45 per cent faster and also supports Video Magic Eraser. It can LLms tasks on the device with new capabilites such as AI Expansion, AI Super Resolution and AI Segmentation.     The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC is manufactured using the improved TSMC 4nm production node. The fact that Qualcomm increased the CPU performance by 30% while decreasing power consumption by 20% is astounding. The use of a tri-cluster eight-core CPU architecture, which includes a single prime core based on the ARM Cortex-X4 architecture with a maximum clock speed of 3.3 GHz. This is aided by five performance cores based on the ARM Cortex-720, clocked at 3.0-3.2GHz with clock speeds of up to 2.3GHz, two efficiency cores based on the ARM Cortex-520.

    The Hexagon NPU, Qualcomm’s updated AI engine, offers double the performance growth compared to the last-gen chipset and 40 per cent more performance per watt, making it ideal for powering AI models.
