Asus Rog Phone 5s Design
At first glance, the ROG Phone 5s and 5 seem similar. In order to differentiate it from the previous model, Asus hasn’t made any modifications to the appearance. In addition to Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protecting the display, this phone has an in-display fingerprint reader. There are front-firing stereo speakers built into the display’s broad symmetrical bezels at the top and bottom. ROG Phone 5s is ideally suited for two-handed use, and the one-handed operation proved difficult.
Additionally, the 238g mass is readily apparent. An aluminium frame surrounds the Asus ROG Phone 5s’ backside, which is coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Additional USB Type-C ports are found on the left side with proprietary connections for Asus’ Aero Active Cooler 5, which is sold separately. In addition, the SIM tray is located on the left and has a striking red accent colour.
For those who prefer using their phones in landscape mode, there are two AirTrigger buttons on the right side of their Asus ROG Phone 5s. The only ports on the top of the frame are a USB Type-C connector that’s somewhat off-centre and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Asus Rog Phone 5s Display
It’s now possible to touch the screen in 24 milliseconds owing to the display’s 360Hz touch sampling rate. Previously, it was set to 300Hz, but that has changed. A 144Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time, HDR10+ support and up to 800 nits maximum brightness round out the list of notable features. The panel’s brightness may easily exceed 800 nits with Max Auto. As a final touch, the display has a unique AS coating that reduces friction when your palms are sweaty during intense gaming sessions. Undoubtedly, it’s a useful function.
Asus Rog Phone 5s Performance
In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC clocking in at up to 2.99GHz, Asus claims to have enhanced its cooling system over the previous model. In terms of power, this is Qualcomm’s second-most powerful SoC, behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Up to a whopping 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM are available on the ROG Phone 5s. There is no microSD card slot on this phone, therefore you cannot extend storage. Wi-Fi 6 and six satellite navigation systems are all supported, as is dual 5G, 4G VoLTE, and Wi-Fi 6. The latest device from the Asus brand runs on Android 11.0 out of the box.
Asus Rog Phone 5s Camera
The ROG Phone 5s has a triple rear camera configuration that includes a main 64-megapixel camera equipped with a Sony IMX686 sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. It boasts a 24-megapixel camera for selfies that is discreetly disguised in the top bezel. The phone’s rear panel has an RGB-illuminated ROG logo that may glow in response to incoming calls and texts.
Asus Rog Phone 5s Battery
There’s no way around the fact that the Asus ROG Phone still boasts an enormous 6000 mAh battery, which is absolutely astounding for a smartphone of this calibre. Even though the phone is capable of fast charging at up to 65W, Asus only provides a 30W charger with the phone
Asus Rog Phone 5s Verdict
In spite of its hefty price tag, the Asus Rog Phone 5s has risen to the top of the gaming smartphone rankings. It’s a high-end device, but the accessories and software it supports are some of the finest on the market right now. For now, that’s all we can say.
