Apple iPhone XR
The iPhone XR has modified over the iPhone X and tried to bring the price of the X-series down. Initially priced at Rs. 75,400, it may remain at the expensive end, but Apple backs it up with many flagship features. iPhone XR balances the flagship features with the price quite brilliantly. While it has a lower resolution LCD and does not have two-day battery life, it does not back down on performance or camera making it an impressive model among the high mid-range class of phones.

iPhone XR is built in a manner to attract the eyes of any user. It has a non-conventional design that breaks off from the Apple tradition. Plus, it arrives with the immensely fast A12 Bionic chipset.
iPhone XR has a powerful A12 processor which can run anything that is thrown at it. It is one of the best processors in the market and has beaten flagship Android sets with the latest Snapdragon chipsets. It is a beast inside the sturdy phone.
Apple iPhone XR goes for a design change and comes in many different colours – quite a revolutionary move for Apple. It is also quite light and well-protected with the durable glass on the back and the front, which makes it a durable phone.
Despite coming at a lower price compared to the XS series, the Apple iPhone XR is still quite expensive. It offers most of the flagship features and makes sure that the user experience remains top-end. iPhone XR is a worthy phone and recommended for anyone who wants an iPhone experience but does not want to shell out the big bucks to get the XS or XS Max.

iPhone goes out of its conservative mould with the iPhone XR. It comes with glass backs which features different colours like black, white, blue, yellow, coral and red. These hues come with matched aluminium bands which seamlessly blend to the back. The durable glass in the front makes it a strong phone. The Phone is quite light and easy to handle. On the front, you get to meet thick bezels when compared to the iPhone XS. iPhone XR has a rating of IP67 water-resistance, and it can withstand 1 meter of water for half an hour which is a bit lower than the IP68 rating of XS, which offers 2m of water resistance.
iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD which is one of the brightest and colourful displays in the market. It comes with a fabulous 1792×828 display which offers excellent detail. You would not have any problems with reading under the sun since it arrives with an impressive 589 nits of brightness which beats the Pixel 3 XL’s 362 nits by a large margin, though it falls short of iPhone XS’ 606 nits. It also registers a satisfying 123.4 percent of the sRGB colour gamut similar to the iPhone XS’s 123 percent but is beaten by Pixel 3 XL’ 170.2 percent. The colour accuracy and reproduction is excellent. However, it is not an AMOLED display, and hence you cannot get the deep blacks on the screen. Also, it does not come with the 3D Touch which is a disappointment.
iPhone XR comes with the beast A12 Bionic processor present in the iPhone XS and XS Max. It is a processor that can beat all the top flagship Android sets in the market. The performance is smooth, and you can play augmented reality-supported games without a problem. Even multiplayer games do not result in any lags. Benchmark tests put the iPhone XR at 11,312 which is similar to iPhone XS Max’s 11,515 and iPhone XS’ 11,420. It easily sails past Galaxy Note 9’s 8,876 and OnePlus 6’s 9,088. Performance tests like editing a 4K clip to 1080p saw that iPhone XR took just 40 seconds where Pixel 3 XL took 2 minutes 42 seconds, proving it to be leading the smartphone industry.
iPhone XR does not come with the dual camera setup of XR and XS, but that does not mean it is going to perform any lower. It comes with the same wide-angle camera of the flagship models and the same Smart HDR. Portrait modes can be easily captured with nice bokeh effects, and edge detection is almost perfect. The software allows you to tweak the bokeh settings as well. However, since it comes without the telephoto lens of the iPhone XS, the picture may appear zoomed out.
In low lights, the iPhone XR camera performed well with the low light photos preserving enough details and looking lit up. It performs better than the Pixel 3XL and makes the picture retain visibility.
The 7MP selfie camera does a great job at clicking selfies capturing good details even in low light. It blurs the background to give a subtle premium effect, but the software allows you to adjust the depth settings according to your liking.
The iPhone XR has a dual speaker setting offering wider stereo sound. It produces rich and full sounds which can be a great catch for any audiophile.
iPhone XR can top the XS Max and XS due to its long battery life. While web surfing, it lasted for 11 hours and 26 minutes which beats iPhone XS Max’s 10 hours 38 minutes and iPhone XS’ 9 hours and 41 minutes. With moderate and heavy use it may last for the best parts of a day, and light use can make it last for either one day without a problem. Unfortunately, iPhone XR does not have the USB-C fast charging on board. However, it does support wireless charging.
The iPhone XR comes as a cheaper variant of the iPhone XS series, but it delivers most of the features present in the flagship model. It is fast, and it has a good display, though the lack of AMOLED screen can be a disappointment. Despite coming with a single camera, it provides a brilliant capacity to capture details. It also provides a better battery life than its predecessors. However, if you want a smaller display then and a good camera, then Pixel 3 is a great alternative.
