4 Technology. There are three color variants for the phone – Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, and Ruby Red. In India, the starting price of the Redmi Note 7 is Rs. 9,999.

Coming to the design and body, it must be admitted that the Redmi Note 7 is incredibly stylish and sexy. The glass-back design with overall Gorilla Glass protection is one of the best features of the phone (a feature that is rarely seen in phones under 10k).

The dot-notch design with slim side-bezels and a prominent chin look great. The front camera lies in the notch whereas the rear panel houses the dual-camera setup and the LED flash. The back panel also has the Fingerprint Sensor placed conveniently. On the right side of the frame, you can see the volume and power buttons, whereas on the left lies the SIM tray.

And while the top part has a 3.5mm headphone jack, the bottom part holds the USB Type-C port and a speaker. The overall build quality of the phone seems to be sturdy and robust.

As we mentioned earlier, the Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3″ (16 cm) IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch functionality. It has a screen resolution of  1080 x 2340 pixels and a pixel density of 409 PPI. The display is very intuitive and responsive even to subtle taps.

The colors appear to be vibrant and rich, while the viewing angles look good as well. While the indoor viewing experience is great, outdoor visibility is not so pleasant. The colors often tend to get muted.

Redmi Note 7 uses an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE Processer (Kryo 260 quad-core processor clocked at up to 2.2GHz). Coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM, the processor ensures a smooth and lag-free performance for the most part. The presence of Adreno 512 GPU provides for impressive graphical performance.

As for day-to-day tasks, the phone can handle it very well. However, the gaming experience isn’t exactly smooth. If you play a game for too long, the phone does begin to show signs of lagging. Apart from this, the overall performance of the processor seems to be great.

Redmi Note 7 features a dual-camera module – a 12MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor to capture the depth information for portrait mode snaps. Since the dual-camera setup is AI-enhanced, it can detect scenes in real-time. Also, it comes with settings like Exposure compensation, ISO control, Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus, Phase Detection autofocus, and much more.

The phone can click some great shots in well-lit conditions. The colour representation looks accurate, with a fair share of details packed in. For low-light settings, the phone has the Night Mode which does a pretty decent job. In low light conditions the camera might fail to capture a lot of detail, but the photos aren’t bad altogether. However, the focus is relatively slow, so you will need to be a little patient.

As for the 13MP selfie camera, it also takes some really great shots in well-lit conditions. However, low-light shots lack clarity, since there’s no flash. The AI Portrait mode is a welcome addition since they allow for picture perfect selfies.

The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 4000mAh battery, that is enough to suffice for an entire day, provided you use it for everyday tasks like calling, texting, using social media apps, etc. and since it comes with Quick Charge technology, it can get fully charged in less than two hours.

For prolonged gaming or extensive browsing, the charge will drop fast, but will still be good enough to last you more than half a day.

On the whole, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 appears to be the perfect device for those looking for a budget-friendly phone with premium features. The phone is packed with some fantastic specs and features, and under 10k, it is a steal.
