The camera module houses four camera sensors, which are arranged in such a way that the overall look is striking. On the front, there is a punch-hole at the top centre for housing the selfie camera and the side bezels are quite small while there is a prominent chin at the bottom. Also, the front side is protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device according to the manufacturer is splashproof.

If there is something unique about the device in terms of design, it is the 192 grams of weight, although, there is a large 6000 mAh battery inside. So, you’ll be able to hold the Redmi 10 Prime 2022 quite easily and also the in-hand feel is going to be soft owing to the shiny surface on the rear. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right side of the device along with the volume rocker and the SIM tray has got three slots two for SIM cards and one for the SD card. The chipset is coupled with 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. Performance-wise, the smartphone appears quite decent and you won’t have any issues while handling multiple applications at the same time and you’ll have a smooth gaming experience as well. However, since there is just 4GB of RAM, you may have some heating issues, making it logical to wonder why a greater RAM option isn’t offered at the current price point.

As for the connectivity, the device supports 4G networks only, which is again a drawback considering the 5G connectivity offered by some of the Realme devices under the 20K price range. Coming to the OS, the device runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 and you’ll have a nice time interacting with the device. However, it would have been much better to introduce Android 12 here when other brands are preparing to introduce it in this price segment to gain a competitive advantage.

The camera section is one of the highlights of the Redmi 10 Prime 2022. There is a whopping 50MP AI Quad-rear camera comprising of a 50MP primary sensor followed by an 8MP + 2MP +2MP sensor. For selfies, there is an 8MP sensor on the front. Although the camera setup looks decent and you’ll be able to capture some stunning shots, there are several features missing like OIS and EIS also, the rear camera supports 1080P video recording only when others are offering 4k video recording. Also, the selfie camera is meagre, there should have been at least a 32MP selfie camera to make it a camera-centric smartphone. Overall, the Redmi 10 Prime 2022 camera is good, but it’s not one that’s worth the device’s price.

Redmi 10 prime 2022 Battery

If there is a major highlight of the Redmi 10 Prime 2022, it is the battery. Yes, there is a whopping 6000 mAh battery under the hood and the battery is clearly capable of providing a large battery backup for multiple days. However, the 18W fast charging is a disappointment here. It’ll probably take you a couple of hours to refill the battery with the given charger, making us wonder why there aren’t more charging speeds available in the device. For connecting the charger, there is a Type-C charging port available in the device.

Coming to the verdict, the Redmi 10 Prime 2022 is a decent device with a 90Hz display and a large battery for providing you with the best visual experience for longer durations also the gaming experience is going to be decent but not that great. For the given price tag, there should have been 5G connectivity, more RAM, improved camera setup and more fast charging. In a nutshell, you’ll find multiple devices from other brands with a more improved spec sheet.  So, going for the Redmi 10 Prime 2022 is not a wise decision.
