POCO C31

After flaunting it for a few days, POCO has finally released the POCO C31 in India. The latest gadget from the company may be thought of as a refined version of the POCO C3 from the previous year. The fingerprint sensor is the sole new feature included with the current edition. The Poco C31 has a massive battery and a respectable MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. The gadget is targeted at consumers seeking a dependable choice in the ultra-affordable or entry-level pricing range.

Poco C31 price in India 

With a starting price of 8,499 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model, the Poco C31 is an affordable option. The most expensive option includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and it costs 9,499. Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale will have the phone accessible to purchase for a limited time only. The Poco C31 is available for a starting price of 7,999 for the 3GB RAM version and a starting price of 8,999 for the 4GB RAM edition.

Design 

The dual-tone screen design of the new Poco C31 budget phone distinguishes it from its predecessors. It features a camera module in the form of a square on the back, and a dewdrop notch on the front, which houses the selfie camera and other sensors. In addition, a fingerprint sensor is placed on the phone’s back for biometric authentication. In addition, the smartphone features a P2i nano-coating that provides splash protection. It is equipped with rubberized seals to keep the SIM card safe.

Display 

This smartphone’s 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display features a resolution of 720×1,600 pixels. The screen features a water-drop design notch and has been certified by TUV Rheinland as having minimal blue light emissions. In terms of aspect ratio, the display has a ratio of 20:9.

Performance 

This smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 processor and can support up to 4 GB of RAM in certain configurations. The device has a storage capacity of 64 GB, which can be extended by up to 512 GB using a microSD card, which may be inserted into a dedicated slot supplied by the manufacturer.  

Unfortunately, the smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 10, which is two years outdated (with MIUI 12). Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5, dual VoLTE, dual VoWi-Fi, and dual VoLTE/VoWi-Fi connectivity are all available on the smartphone.

Camera 

In terms of photography, a triple-rear camera system has been introduced, consisting of a 13-megapixel main camera and two 2-megapixel secondary cameras. Among the camera’s capabilities are AI portrait mode, facial recognition, artificial intelligence scene identification, and night mode, to name a few. A 5-megapixel camera is housed inside the dewdrop notch for taking selfies.

Battery 

The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that is expected to last for up to two days. It is said to have a standby time of up to 540 hours, 30 hours of e-learning time, 34 hours of VoLTE calling time, and 10 hours of gaming time. Apart from normal charing, there is a micro-USB port for connecting the charger.

Verdict 

The Poco C31 is a decent performer in the entry-level section and features a large battery with a respectable processor and internal storage. Also, the addition of the fingerprint sensor makes it a good choice from its predecessor. However, the Android 10 OS goes against this device. So, if you are ok with it, you may go with the Poco C31.
