The Mute Unknown Callers feature will allow users to mute calls from any spam numbers still in the call list and notification centre. According to WABetainfo’s report, the new feature is currently being developed on WhatsApp beta for Android. (WhatsApp silence unknown callers) This service will include many benefits, such as reducing interruptions and potentially avoiding spell calls.

The report states that users will find a toggle located in the app settings and once enabled, calls from unknown numbers will be muted, but they will still be shown in the call list. Meanwhile, WhatsApp is rolling out a new ‘Split View’ feature for tablets, which will allow users to simultaneously view and use two different sections of the application at the same time on Android Beta.

Usually, when users open a chat on the tablet version of the application, the chat view takes up the entire screen and then users have to go back to the chat list again if they want to open a different chat. With the new feature, the chat list will always be visible when you open a chat.
