Vodafone Idea (Vi) is reportedly testing its 5G services in Mumbai as part of its preparations for the official launch. According to reports, multiple users have shared screenshots showing 5G activation notifications, in-app confirmations, and the appearance of the 5G network icon on their smartphones. And finally, it has begun 5G trials in Mumbai, providing access to select users at existing rates. The commercial rollout may happen around mid-March, coinciding with Holi. Additionally, the latest report states that Vi 5G networks will launch in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Patna by April.

They stated that select users would be given unlimited 5G data to provide feedback, helping to enhance the service before the official launch, which is expected to be announced soon.
A Vi user shared screenshots showcasing the 5G network icon and a speed test of the under-trial service, noting that the Voice over New Radio (VoNR) feature is currently unavailable. VoNR enables voice calls over a 5G network. The user also reported achieving download speeds exceeding 200Mbps and upload speeds of over 20Mbps.
