Vodafone Idea (Vi) officially launched its 5G services in India on Tuesday, starting with Mumbai. The telecom operator plans to expand its high-speed network to Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, and Punjab shortly. Alongside the launch, Vi has introduced a dedicated microsite providing details about its 5G connectivity and the latest prepaid and postpaid plans. Prepaid Plans
Vi’s 5G prepaid plans start at Rs 299, offering 1GB of data per day for 28 days. Users can also opt for the Rs 349 plan, which provides 1.5GB of daily data, or the Rs 365 plan, offering 2GB per day, both with the same validity. For those looking for a long-term option, Vi’s most expensive prepaid plan is priced at Rs 3,599, providing 2GB of data per day for a full year (365 days). Notably, all these plans include unlimited 5G data.
Postpaid Plans
Vi has launched four postpaid plans under this offering. The Vi Max 451 and Vi Max 551 plans, priced at Rs 451 and Rs 551 per month, provide 50GB and 90GB of data, respectively. The Vi Max 751 plan costs Rs 751 per month and comes with 150GB of data. For heavy data users, the REDX 1201 plan, priced at Rs 1,201 per month, offers unlimited data. Similar to prepaid options, all postpaid plans also come with unlimited 5G data in areas where coverage is available.

Vi’s unlimited 5G data is currently part of an introductory offer, making it a limited-time benefit. At present, Vi stands out as the only telecom operator in India offering unlimited 5G data on plans with less than 2GB of daily data. In contrast, Bharti Airtel and Jio provide unlimited 5G access only with plans that include at least 2GB of data per day.
