Microsoft Corporation rolled out their latest and greatest Microsoft Windows 11 a couple months ago. One of the core elements that make the brand new OS stand out is its widgets panel. It is entirely different from what we have seen on other Microsoft Windows operating systems. This widgets panel consists of a variety of different cards alongside the regular News, Weather and other informational elements.
However, Microsoft Windows 11 currently does not offer support for third party widgets. Moreover, users cannot pin widgets to their desktop either. These things will seemingly change soon as Microsoft Corporation now has quite a few things up its sleeve for the new Operating System.

Microsoft Windows 11 Operating System To Get A Popular Windows 7 Feature
As per latest developments, a report by Windows Latest, Windows 11 will soon get support for third-party widgets. Now, the ability to use third-party widgets was first introduced way back during Microsoft Windows Vista days. Further, support for third-party widgets was carried forward to Windows 7 as well. However, we lost support for this feature later on. Microsoft Corporation seems to be finally bringing it back on their latest operating system.

The support for third-party widgets will be rolled out via the 22H2 update for the new Microsoft Windows OS. Furthermore, the Windows Latest report also suggests that with this update Microsoft Corporation will allow users to customise their widgets panel on Windows 11. According to the report, no APIs related to the upcoming third-party widgets support feature were spotted in the current stable builds of the OS. Going by this, the feature may take time to land, say, a few weeks or even months.
