Sony WH-1000XM5 Can Offer Up to 40 Hours of Battery Life

The Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones were first introduced to the world in May. These are Sony’s newest flagship headphones. The 1000XM model’s updated active noise cancellation (ANC), unique design, longer battery life, 30mm audio driver arrangement, and other features set it apart from older models.

Sony is preparing to introduce the new headphones in India before the festive season. Before the commencement of the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale on September 23, Sony is teasing the debut of a new headphone product in India on Amazon. In September previous year, Sony India also unveiled the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones.

Although the teaser does not explicitly state the product’s name, examining the page’s source code reveals that it is “sony/nm/1000XM5” and that the picture on the website has the “1000XM5” name. Additionally, the website’s image mimics the already released Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones. Let’s examine the specifics.

Over-ear headphones from Sony featuring Bluetooth 5.2 wireless communication are the WH-1000XM5. Large 30mm dynamic driver unit on the interiorsupports SBC, AAC, LDAC audio codecs, and A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP sound profiles. There is also DSEE Extreme, an AI-based method that improves clarity and recovers detail from lossy compressed formats.

The 1000XM5s’ redesigned earcups can now rotate sideways but not inwards like those in the previous generation, and Sony has added the new V1 processor, which unlocks the HD Noise Cancelling processor QN1. This eight-mic set is advertised as having the exceptional noise-cancelling capability. Additionally, the WH-1000XM5 supports wireless Hi-Res and Hi-Res audio.

They have a battery life of up to 40 hours with ANC off and up to 30 hours with ANC on for music playback. These numbers are reduced to 24 hours and 32 hours for calls. You may charge the earbuds using a USB Type-C connector, and a full charge takes roughly 3.5 hours.

The headphones cost $399.99 worldwide, equivalent to around Rs 31,6500.
