The Samsung Galaxy S22 series debuted on February 9. There were plenty of eyeballs on this launch as they expected the continuation of a great line of phones from Samsung. The phones will run on Android 12 with OneUI 4.1 on top of it. One of the major head-turners for this event was the RAM Plus feature.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series consists of three phones, Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. According to the latest OneUI 4.1 update, the user will be able to choose how much storage should be used as virtual RAM. To do this, one needs to go to the settings and the RAM Plus section from there to select from 2GB,4GB, 6GB, and 8GB to choose for virtual RAM enhancement. As spotted by SamMobile, there’s no option to dismiss this function completely. It will keep on using unused, free memory as RAM to run applications that are more demanding than the rest.

The processor in Galaxy S22 is top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 but it has a 3700mAh battery. The model higher than this, the S22+ has a bigger 4500mAh battery but the same processor. The Ultra version has a 5000mAh battery and 1TB of storage. It also houses a 108-megapixel main sensor with a 6.8-inches screen.

What changes by this?

The RAM Plus feature gives great power to the hands of the users. The users can now customise their RAM needs to their priority. Heavy users can increase their RAM capacity by 8GB and that will be helpful in the smooth functioning of their device. This freedom of choice is the main feature of One UI 4.1.
