A couple of days ago, Realme launched its latest smartphone lineup, the Realme 8 in the Indian market. According to Realme India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth, it looks like we are getting 5G variants soon. He confirmed this piece of detail online. Moreover, the Realme 8 5G models can have an upgraded list of specifications over what Realme offered with its latest smartphones. In addition, there are rumors of the device in the works for some weeks.

Alongside Sheth’s confirmation, the Realme 8 5G also surfaced on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) website. Additionally, Sheth also reveals that the new models are “under final stage of testing and launching soon”. However, he didn’t provide any specific timelines or pricing details about the 5G variants.

A listing on the NBTC site suggests the existence of the Realme 8 5G among the new variants. The phone lists with a model number RMX3241. However, it is different from the 4G-enabled Realme8 that has an RMX3085 model number.

However, they do not list any details of the device in the listing. Although we can expect some similarities to that of the Realme 8 4G series. On the other hand, a phone with a similar model number RMX3242 surfaced online suggesting a launch soon.
To recall, Realme 8 features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Moreover, it has an octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, along with up to 8GB of RAM and standard 128GB storage. Realme 8 also features a quad rear camera setup that houses a 64-MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, an 8-MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.25 lens, a 2-MP macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-MP monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 lens. It also comes with a 16-MP selfie camera and a 4,500mAh battery.

Alongside the vanilla variant, we also have a Realme 8 Pro featuring a 108-MP primary camera sensor as its’ USP. It is also powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. The Pro model, however, also offers the same display and identical battery that’s there on the regular Realme 8.
