2021 has seen the rise of foldable smartphones more than any other year. Earlier we saw the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 go official and now, the OnePlus Tri-Fold is reportedly in the works. We also got to see the Xiaomi MIX Fold go official in China this year. Meanwhile, the Google Pixel Fold is reportedly in the works as well. It only makes sense for a smartphone giant like OnePlus to join the trend now.
Popular tech portal, LetsGoDigital, uncovered a Shenzen OnePlus patent for their OnePlus Tri-Fold smartphone. Moreover, the three parts of its display have been brought to life by Gao Yang. This will be the very first foldable smartphone by OnePlus, according to the LetsGoDigital report. This smartphone has already been patented by OnePlus and we also get design renders based off of these patents, thanks to Technizo Concept.

OnePlus Tri-Fold Design Renders
Technizo Concept, aka, Parvez Khan, has now unveiled the design renders for the rumoured OnePlus Tri-Fold. He based these renders off of the patents filed for the foldable smartphone by the brand. So, we can see a very true to patent sort of a design.

As per the renders, the upcoming Tri-Fold by OnePlus will be sporting three display parts. These three parts will be backed by a double hinge. This will allow the smartphone to be folded in multiple ways. Now, the benefit of having a device like this is it immediately increases productivity. Users can use it in any way they want. The versatility of the device lies in it being foldable and usable in multiple ways.

The OnePlus Tri-Fold release date is currently under wraps. However, as per the LetsGoDigital report, we can expect to see it go official in 2022. These are mere assumption and are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Maybe this device will be yet another device that meets the racks and never makes it to official release.
