The OnePlus 16 camera system is shaping up to be one of the biggest upgrades in the company’s upcoming flagship. OnePlus has now confirmed the phone’s camera specifications, including a new 200-megapixel primary sensor. The company has also teased camera samples, giving users an early look at the imaging capabilities of the new device.
Along with the camera upgrades, OnePlus has confirmed key hardware and design details for the OnePlus 16. The phone will use Qualcomm’s latest flagship platform and introduce a new lighting feature designed to add visual effects to everyday interactions.
OnePlus 16 Camera Gets Major Upgrade
The biggest change in OnePlus 16 camera comes to the rear setup, with OnePlus introducing a 200MP sensor to its flagship lineup for the first time. The main camera works with the company’s new LUMO light condensing imaging system, which is designed to improve light capture.

The confirmed camera specifications include:
• 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.4 inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture
• 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with Sony IMX882 sensor
• 3x optical zoom and up to 6x lossless digital zoom
• 50-megapixel ultra wide camera with a 116 degree field of view
• 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus
OnePlus has also shared camera samples from the phone, highlighting its upgraded imaging system. The combination of a high resolution main sensor, periscope camera and autofocus selfie camera could make the OnePlus 16 more versatile for photography and video.
OnePlus 16 Hardware, Design And Storage Options
The OnePlus 16 will be among the early smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform. The new processor is expected to improve performance and support more advanced on device image processing.
The phone will feature a flat display with symmetrical bezels on all four sides and rounded corners. OnePlus will offer the handset in three colour options:
• Tomorrow’s Starlight
• Dark Forest
• Martian Masterpiece
The company has also introduced an Interstellar Light Effect, which adds dynamic lighting patterns for calls, notifications, media playback, charging, gaming and other interactions.
The OnePlus 16 will reportedly be available in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB configurations, giving buyers several storage options to choose from.
