  • Lava, the Indian smartphone brand, has announced the launch date of its latest smartphone, the Lava Agni 2 5G. The company has officially confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in India on May 16 at 12 pm (IST). The phone is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC and is teased to feature a curved display.

    The Lava Agni 2 5G will succeed the Lava Agni 5G, which was launched in November 2021. The upcoming smartphone has been long-awaited, with several leaks and reports about its features and specifications surfacing in the past few weeks.     According to an earlier report, the Lava Agni 2 5G is expected to launch at a price of around Rs. 20,000. The phone will be exclusively available for purchase through Amazon. The official teaser of the phone shows a shiny blue-green shade. And it is reported that the phone will be offered in a second colour option.

    Live images of the phone leaked previously suggest that the rear quad camera unit is housed in a large centre-aligned circular camera module towards the top of the back panel. The teaser of the Lava Agni 2 5G also shows a similar design. However, we hope to get official confirmation from the company in the coming days.

    The Lava Agni 2 5G is also reported to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 900) AMOLED display. Along with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will most likely pack a 5,000mAh battery unit. With 44W wired charging support and a USB Type-C charging port.

While the front camera is to have a 16-megapixel sensor.
