The iQOO 16 is officially launching in China on September 29 at 7 PM. The flagship will focus on performance and will go on sale soon after the launch event.
The company has also confirmed a new Samsung display for the phone, making the screen one of its biggest upgrades.
iQOO 16 Gets A 2K 165Hz Samsung M16 Display
iQOO has teamed up with Samsung Display for what it calls its most extensive display collaboration so far. The iQOO 16 will use a new flagship panel built on Samsung's M16 luminescent material.
The screen combines 2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, which iQOO describes as a world-first combination. A custom display IC has been developed to support the high refresh rate.

The 165Hz refresh rate should be particularly useful for gaming. A higher refresh rate can make scrolling, animations and supported games look smoother.
The display also focuses on eye comfort. iQOO says the panel uses an unpolarised natural-light design and full-brightness DC dimming. It also uses a three-sensor ambient light system to adjust brightness in different lighting conditions.

iQOO 16 Launch Date And Expected Features
The iQOO 16 will be unveiled in China on September 29 at 19:00 local time. The company says the phone will be available to purchase immediately after the announcement.
iQOO is positioning the device as a performance-focused flagship. Company representatives have even suggested that the base iQOO 16 configuration can match or outperform some standard high-end Pro Max smartphones.
However, the company has not yet revealed all of the phone's hardware.
The processor is one of the biggest missing details, along with the camera setup, battery capacity, charging speed and pricing. More information is expected to arrive before the September 29 launch.
For now, the display is the main confirmed highlight of the iQOO 16. Its combination of 2K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, Samsung M16 technology and 10,000-nit local peak brightness could make it one of the most interesting flagship screens of the year.
