Google is preparing to introduce a more affordable variant, the Google Pixel 9a, and speculation suggests it will carry a price tag similar to its predecessor. A report indicates that the upcoming device will maintain the same pricing in the US and Europe as the Google Pixel 8a, which debuted in May 2024. The official Indian pricing for the Google Pixel 9a is yet to be announced, but it is expected to align with the Pixel 8a’s launch price.

For reference, the Pixel 8a price in India starts at Rs 52,999 for the 128GB variant and Rs 59,999 for the 256GB model. The latest leaks hint that the Google Pixel 9a price will be $499 (roughly Rs 43,400) for the 128GB version, while the 256GB variant will cost $599 (around Rs 51,800). While the base model retains the same price as the Pixel 8a, the higher storage option sees a $40 (roughly Rs 3,400) increase.
Thus, if Google adopts a comparable pricing approach, the Pixel 9a could launch at approximately Rs 52,999, while the 256GB variant might climb to around Rs 64,000. This would create a price difference exceeding Rs 10,000 between the two storage configurations.
Stylish Redesign And Spec Enhancements
The Pixel 9a is set to depart from the familiar bar-style camera module seen in past Pixel models, opting instead for a streamlined, flush-back design. Its rear panel will feature a smooth, matte finish with the Google logo prominently positioned at the center.
