Google Pixel 7 First Leak is Here! Key Details Emerge

The Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro went official back in October of 2021. Sadly, the series did not come to India and now, the brand is already working on their Google Pixel 7. The very first details of the upcoming flagship has now surfaced online. As per multiple reports, Google is working on its 2nd Gen Tensor Chipset. Some very interesting details have been uncovered so let us get right into it!

Google Pixel 7 Tensor Chipset Details

Talking about the upcoming Pixel 7 series, the reported 2nd Gen Tensor chipset will be powering them. In addition, it has also been revealed that the upcoming Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro will be come with a Samsung 5300 Exynos Modem as well to bring connectivity to the table. To recall, the Pixel 6 series phones are powered by the Tensor GS101 SoC. Now, for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the chipset carried the codenames Oriole and Raven.

Now, as per a new report by 9to5Google, we get to know that a Tensor chipset with the model number GS201 is in the works. Additionally, this report also reveals that the mysterious chipset carries the codename Cloudripper. All the details hint at the fact that we are indeed looking at a 2nd Gen Tensor Chipset.

Exynos Modem Details

In addition, we also get to know about the codenames of the Exynos model that will be powering the upcoming Google Pixel 7 series smartphones. The interesting thing here is that the series will most likely include two models – the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Now, the Exynos model in these two models carries the codenames Cheetah and Panther. However, there is also a third codename which is called Ravenclaw.

Previously, the Google Pixel series have had associations with the animal kingdom. But, this time with the Google Pixel 7 series, they are basing their codenames on land animals. Previously, we got to see the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Google Pixel 6a had codenames Oriole, Raven and Pipit (these are names of birds). Prior to that, the Google Pixel 5 series had the codenames Redfin and Sailfish. Going by this, we can determine that each of the different Pixel phone generations will have such distinct codenames.

Google Foldable Pixel Launch Date

Previously, noted tipster Ross Young took to Twitter to reveal the launch date of the much awaited Google Pixel Foldable. According to Young, the flagship foldable is already in the works and will hit production sometime in Q3 of 2022. Additionally, he also reveals that the smartphone will go official sometime in Q4 of 2022 itself. Point is, the Google Pixel Foldable could go official alongside the Google Pixel 7 series.
