Geoff Keighley, the host of last night’s Gamescom Opening Night Live, revealed many awesome new games, including Dune: Awakening. Dune Awakening is an open-world survival MMO. It is based on the sci-fi series and allows a large community of people to interact in a “seamless” Arrakis.
The main setting of the Dune franchise is Arrakis, a desert planet often known as Dune. The release date for the next game, which is being created and distributed by Funcom, has not yet been disclosed.
On the game’s official website, players may register for the beta and receive a sneak peek at what the MMO offers. When the game is released, it will be accessible on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.

What does Funcom have to say?
Although Funcom has been working on Dune Awakening, this is the first we’ve seen of it. According to the corporation, it has been actively hiring for the project. They said, “We cordially encourage you to participate in creating a universe.
It’s unbounded by its rich mythology and timeless concepts. We want to create a Dune universe where all fans may live out their desire to travel around. Together with its always changing landscape with sand under their fingernails and spice in the air.”
Conan Exiles, Funcom’s other survival game, is their most well-known title. Even after 70 hours, the prospect of going back to the Exiled Lands still carries some appeal. And according to our evaluation. It was “frequently sluggish and gruelling.”

Dune Awakening – Trailer and other details
Although the game and the Denis Villeneuve film Dune appear to have a lot in common stylistically, there are probably no connections between the two. From what Funcom has revealed thus far, it appears that Dune: Awakening will assign players the tasks of founding their own faction on Arrakis and mining spice.
The game’s difficult survival elements will be mixed with a battle mechanic and worm traversal. More will probably become available as the game gets closer to completion. So far, there is no gameplay to be seen.
Given the recent success of survival MMOs and the Dune IP’s revival, there is a significant probability that Awakening may grow to be the next major persistent MMO game.
