BGMI players who use Facebook credentials to log in to their game IDs have faced a huge outage recently. Users are reporting widespread “Authentication Error” messages when attempting to log in via Facebook accounts, preventing access to the popular battle royale game.
Krafton Issues Official Clarification
Just as the BGMI Facebook login issue created havoc, Krafton India officially acknowledged the problem, stating it is not a bug in the BGMI application. The issue stems from unstable authentication services on Facebook’s side, a server-side problem beyond Krafton’s control. Reinstalling the game or clearing the cache will not resolve it.
Only Facebook login is affected; alternative methods such as Google Play Games, Twitter (X), and Apple ID continue to work normally.
Krafton advises players to switch to secondary linked accounts to avoid repeated failed attempts, which could trigger temporary IP bans. The company recommends linking additional login options in the game settings for future reliability and urges patience until Facebook stabilises its service.
