Moreover, as per the leaks, this MagSafe charger will release with the Apple iPhone 17. The filings also indicate that these Apple chargers will support the upcoming Qi2.2 wireless charging standard.

What Does The Qi2.2 Standard Mean For This Device?

The Qi2.2 standard will enable wireless charging speeds of up to 50W, a major improvement over the current 15W limit of Qi2. Rumors suggest that Apple’s next generation of iPhones (Apple iPhone 17 lineup) will be the first to fully leverage the Qi2.2 protocol, taking advantage of the faster 50W wireless charging speeds. This could mean that charging your phone wirelessly will soon be just as fast as using a cable.

For those not upgrading to the iPhone 17, there’s still good news. These new MagSafe chargers are expected to be fully compatible with older iPhone models, reportedly supporting devices from the Apple iPhone 11 all the way through the iPhone 16.
