Apple India has broken pre-order records with its locally-made Apple iPhone 17 series. This pre-order rise shows strong interest from Indian consumers, helped by Apple expanding its retail stores and manufacturing in the country. Joining the lineup is the new iPhone 17 Air, praised for its sleek and durable titanium design. This release also marks Apple’s first price increase on entry-level iPhones since 2020.

iPhone 17 Series Pre-Orders Break Records In India
Apple is not just focusing on selling iPhones in India but also on making more phones locally. Pre-orders for iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro starting from September 12 have seen strong demand online and in Apple stores across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru. Adding two new stores in Bengaluru and Pune this month boosts the company’s reach just before the launch. Apple’s flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi together earned around Rs 800 crore in their first year, showing the strength of Apple’s Indian customer base.

This year, Apple increased the starting price for entry-level iPhones for the first time since 2020 after iPhone 17 series pre-order. However, the base iPhone 17 now offers 256GB storage, which is double the last year’s 128GB. Compared to the iPhone 16’s 256GB model, the new iPhone 17 is actually Rs 7,000 cheaper at launch.
