The continuing US-Huawei conflict has cast doubts on the Chinese company’s smartphone market, prompting several potential buyers of Huawei and Honor-branded phones to reconsider. Despite this, Huawei subsidiary Honor recently released the Honor Play 20 belonging to the entry-level section and features a massive battery along with a great design and some other interesting specs. Here is a brief review of the Honor Play 20 that you must go through before it makes its entry into the Indian smartphone market. 

Honor Play 20 Price in India 

In India, the Honor Play 20 is estimated to cost Rs. 9,949. Honor Play 20 is scheduled to be released on July 27, 2021. This is the Honor Play 20 base model with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, which will be available in Aurora Blue, Magic Night Black, Titanium Empty Silver, and Iceland White.

Honor Play 20 has an eye-catching design and a very compact form factor, making it very simple to keep the phone in hands, but the glossy plastic back panel is a fingerprint magnet. Although there is a large 5000 mAh abtery, still the overall weight of the Honor Play 20 is below 200 grams, which is quite amazing. There is no dust and water resistance and the Gorilla glass protection is also missing. Further you won’t find any fingerprint sensor in this smartphone. 

Honor Play 20 has a 6.51-inch TFT LCD display with a pixel density of 270ppi and a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The panel features a waterdrop notch with minimal bezels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen-to-body ratio of the unit is 82.6 per cent.

Honor Play 20 features a Unisoc T610 Octa-core processor. The device’s RAM and internal memory are 4GB and 128GB, respectively. Memory card up to 512GB is supported by the device. The Honor Play 20 comes pre-installed with Magic UI on top of Android 10. Dual-SIM VoLTE (Nano + Nano(Hybrid)), Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0 are among the smartphone’s connectivity options.

On the back, Honor Play 20 has a dual-camera setup with a 13MP wide-angle sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and an LED light. The smartphone has a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The camera supports AF Phase Detection, Artificial Intelligence, Auto Flash, Auto Focus, Bokeh Effect, Continuous Shooting, Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geo-tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), ISO power, Time Lapse, Touch to focus, and White balance presets, among other features.

There is a large 5000 mAh battery which is the major selling point of the Honor Play 20 and which according to the company is sufficient to provide a two days power backup. However, there is no fast charging and it will surely take some time to refill the battery. For connecting the charger there is a Type-C charging port. 

Honor Play 20 is a low-cost choice with a slew of basic specifications. It has 128GB of internal storage, so, the smartphone can be used as a huge storage facility for documents, media files and applications. The front camera is a fairly average offering for the price. With a 5000mAh Li-Polymer style battery, you can also enjoy extended operational hours. However there are few basic necessities missing here like the fingerprint sensopr and the display features 720 pixel resolution, which is something outdated in the present competition.
