Honor 30S

Honor recently announced a new smartphone Honor 30s during an online event in mainland China. It is Honor’s first smartphone with 5G capability. Honor 30S is powered by the brand new HiSilicon Kirin 820 chipset, which can provide you flagship-level experience on a mid-range device. It has a 3D glass body and is available in multiple variants.

Honor 30S Price in India

Honor 30S is up for sale in China from April 7 at a starting price of RMB2399 which converts to almost Rs.25,000 in India. Honor 30S price in India and availability is still unknown.

Honor 30S features a 3D glass design and the device is sandwiched between glass. The design on the rear panel appears like a butterfly when viewed from different angles. On the rear side, you can also see the AI quad-camera setup with dual-LED flash. It features a punch-hole selfie camera on the top left side of the display panel. Honor 30S a pretty sleek and lightweight device, weighing around 190 grams. The dimensions of Honor 30s are 162.31 x 75.00 x 8.58 mm. The fingerprint sensor is rightly placed on the power button.

Honor 30S comes in three different colour variants:- Black, green and white.

Honor 30S houses a massive 6.5 inches LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a decent 83.8% screen-to-body ratio. The screen supports up to 16M different colours and the resolution of the display panel is 1080×2400 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the pixel density of 405ppi. The front panel supports HDR 10 and has a protection of aluminosilicate glass. The display on the Honor 30S also comes with the TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification.

The Honor 30S comes equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 820 chipset, which not only gives it 5G capabilities but also provides a flagship-level experience. The chipset comes paired with Mali-G57 MP6 GPU and an octa-core processor with the maximum plausible frequency of up to 2.36GHz. It is provided with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB UFS Storage 2.1. You can also opt for the 256G. storage variant if you are a heavy storage burner. The Kirin 820 is very efficient in using power and helps the battery last longer. When needed, the cores can provide great power to the device and improve game quality and ease video rendering. Honor 30S is also powered by Huawei’s latest NPU in Kirin 820 which is capable of delivering AI energy efficiency.

Even though the Honor 30S runs on Android 10, the Google Play Services is absent on the device.

Honor 30S features a quad rear AI camera with the main sensor being 64 MP and has an f/1.8 lens. The secondary camera is an 8 MP telephoto sensor and supports 3X optical zoom, 5X hybrid zoom and 20X digital zoom with f/2.4 lens. The tertiary camera is 8 MP Ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and the fourth 2 MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. The front punch hole camera is a 16 MP sensor for selfies, with an f/2.0 aperture. Honor 30S is good for videography as well as it supports 4K 30fps video shooting, 32X slow-motion and 4K HD time-lapse shooting.

Honor 30S sports a 4000 mAh Li-ion non-removable battery with support of up to 40W fast charging. The battery can charge from 0 to 70% in half-an-hour.

Honor 30s is a pretty decent device, which does not lack anything specific. One can consider buying it if the 60Hz screen isn’t a problem. It has a great design and cameras which can appeal to offline audiences and can provide them with good value for money experience.
