Samsung Galaxy M34 Design and Build
Starting off with the design, you get a similar design to the flagship S series, which makes it look simple and subtle. You get a triple camera setup at the back with no camera unit but just the lenses.
The back panel is made of plastic which sort of gives it a cheap feel in the hands. But for the price, I could not have asked for better. Note that it also attracts fingerprints and smudges. The frame is also made of plastic and curved around the edges and corners, offering a good grip in my hands.

Well, it’s surely a big phone, and you can tell that when you hold it. However, surprisingly Samsung has kept the weight just below 200 grams. Tough to believe with the huge 6000mAh battery packed inside it.
The right side has a power button that doubles as the fingerprint scanner along with volume rockers. The left and top side is totally clean. The bottom side holds the type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speaker.
Samsung Galaxy M34 Camera
Samsung Galaxy M34 features a triple camera setup on the back that manages to capture good shots in daylight conditions. It includes a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. The front side has a 13MP camera for taking selfies.
The 50MP main camera captures really detailed photos with incredible clarity and vibrant colours in ample light. Whether you’re capturing landscapes or general portrait shots, the Galaxy M34 delivers impressive results. Edge detection in portrait shots was good in most cases.

Low-light shots were decent. While the photos were not so detailed, the noise level was kept in control. The macro lens is nothing special to talk about. You can take some usable shots in good lighting conditions.
The 13MP front camera delivers impressive results with accurate colours and excellent dynamic range. My skin tone looked very natural and not boosted in any manner. Other than that, the details were well maintained.
Samsung Galaxy M34 Battery and Charging
Now let’s talk about the best part of the Samsung Galaxy M34, its battery. It is loaded with a massive 6000mAh battery which can power it for days. Yes, you heard it right, DAYS. I was using it for a week and I only charged it 3 times.
3 times in a week…sounds good to me. Even if you are a heavy user, I’m pretty sure that it’ll last you more than a day. And if you are a hardcore gamer, you can play for about 8-9 hours straight without needing a charger. PS don’t do that.

While the battery backup is super strong, the charging part lacks a bit. It comes with 25W fast charging support but no charging brick in the box. I used an 18W charger which took more than 2 hours to fully charge the phone from 0 to 100 per cent.
Samsung Galaxy M34 Display
Samsung Galaxy M34 features a 6.5 inches Super AMOLED display that offers a nice display experience. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The screen gets bright enough for both indoor and outdoor use.
You can switch between a Standard 60Hz refresh rate and a High 120Hz refresh rate in the display settings. Apart from that, you can also adjust the colours on the screen as per your liking in the screen mode.

The content on the screen looks sharp and crisp, thanks to the super AMOLED panel. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and the viewing experience was amazing. The colours looked vibrant and punchy.
The bezels around the display are thin, except for the thick bezel at the bottom. Also, I can’t ignore the old-school water-drop notch which doesn’t look nice, especially at this price. Overall, the display part could have been better.
Samsung Galaxy M34 Performance and Software
Samsung Galaxy M34 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You can further expand the RAM by another 6GB using the RAM Plus feature for a total of 12GB of RAM (on my 6GB variant).
The phone is capable enough to handle everyday tasks with ease. Multitasking is fine and apps load up fairly quick. Talking about gaming, the phone is a decent choice for casual gamers. I tried playing BGMI, CoD Mobile and Asphalt 9.

All the games ran well in low to medium settings. While I had to play BGMI and CoD Mobile in low settings for the best gaming experience, Asphalt 9 ran pretty well in High settings as well, with minor frame drops.
Samsung Galaxy M34 runs on One UI 5.1 version, which is based on Android 13. The UI is similar to what you see on other Samsung phones, simple and easy to navigate. You can play around with wallpapers and change colour palettes as well.
You also get features like Split screen, Multi window, Side key, Motions and Gestures and more. On the other hand, you get a bunch of pre-installed bloatware on the phone including Amazon, PhonePe, Snapchat, Spotify, Netflix and a few more. Of course, you can uninstall them from the settings.
Samsung Galaxy M34 proves to be a solid contender in the under 20K price segment. You get a nice design, lightweight build with good performance for everyday use. Moreover, the 120Hz AMOLED display enhances the phone usage experience.
Not to forget, the massive battery pack makes it really long-lasting, even for heavy users. The only thing that doesn’t look so nice is the thick chin bezel and the water-drop notch style. All-in-all, the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G is a good choice for people who want excellent battery life for all-day content consumption and gaming.
