Xiaomi Posts Cryptic Tweet; Hints at Redmi 10 Prime India Launch

    Redmi 10 Prime: What To Expect?
  • Last year, Xiaomi launched a bunch of smartphones under the Redmi 9 series. This included the vanilla Redmi 9 and the Redmi 9 Prime. Now, the company is aiming towards following a similar strategy for their Redmi 10 series of devices. The Redmi 10 Prime has recently surfaced online, when it first made an appearance on the IMEI database. Now, seems like Xiaomi couldn’t keep it discreet any longer as they have finally teased the device via a cryptic tweet.

    The tweet seems like all numbers and pretty much, nothing, at first. However, it actually teases the launch of a new Redmi device and going by the fact that the Redmi 10 has recently been launched globally, it could only refer to it making its way to India now. But, the Redmi 10 will make its entry into the Indian market, rebranded as the 10 Prime, multiple reports suggest. If it is to be believed that the upcoming 10 Prime will be a rebranded Redmi 10, then here are a couple of things we can expect when it comes to Redmi 10 Prime specs:

    Display

    Taking into account the Redmi 10 specifications, the 10 Prime could feature a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ LCD display. We can also expect to see the similar resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels on the device. The 10 Prime may also come with the same 405 PPI pixel density alongside an adaptive 90Hz refresh rate.

    Processor

    Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC can be expected to power the device. This octa-core 12nm chipset will pair up with the Mali-G52 GPU. Further, the SoC and GPU can be expected to be coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

    Camera

    Moving to optics, the Redmi 10 Prime specs may include a quad rear camera setup. The setup will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide-angle sensor. Now, the setup is also expected to include the similar two 2-megapixel sensors in the setup like the Redmi 10. These two additional 2-megapixel sensors will be for macro and depth shots, respectively. On the front, we may see the device sport an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

    Battery

    The Redmi 10 Prime specs will also include a big 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The device is also expected to come with 9W reverse charging support like on the Redmi 10. In addition, the device will feature a USB Type-C port for charging and retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. We can also expect to see a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security along with dimensions of 162×75.3×8.95mm. Lastly, the device will weigh 181 grams.
