WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has announced that support for some older iPhone models is being dropped. This means users of these older models will no longer be able to use the service on their devices. Here is everything you need to know about the devices affected by this move.
WhatsApp Drops Support For These iPhone Models
WhatsApp has revealed that iPhone users will require a device running iOS 15.1 or later from May, 2025. If you have a older smartphone will need to upgrade their iOS version or buy a new phone to continue using the service.

Currently, WhatsApp is available on iPhones running on iOS 12 and later. But if you have the following iPhone model then you will need to upgrade:
All three devices are more than 10 years old and run on iOS 12.5.7, the last software update. WhatsApp will stop working on these iPhone from May, 2025 although the messaging service currently supports them.

If you are still using an older iOS version then its best to update to the latest version. However, if your device is ineligible for updates then you should buy a new iPhone or Android phone to enjoy uninterrupted access to the service.
