The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has announced to release of software updates by this month. Also, the company executive says that it is done to make most Vivo 5G-enabled smartphones compatible with both standalone and non-standalone 5G networks. Vivo will provide a 5G update to its phones.
After then the Business strategy head at Vivo India, Paigham Danish, gave a statement on Wednesday while speaking to reporters. This was given on the occasion of Vivo Tech day.
So, he said, “More than six of our smartphones support the 5G standalone network. Most of our smartphones are compatible with NSA (non-standalone network). We will release software updates this month which will make most of our smartphones compatible with 5G standalone as well”.

The 5G is a standalone network that transmits only the 5G signal. Again, the non-standalone counterpart transmits a mix of 4G and 5G signals. Reliance Jio offers a 5G standalone network in the country. Airtel provides a non-standalone 5G network.
Vivo 5G Smartphones
The IDC data states that Vivo is the company’s third-largest smartphone seller in the country. It offers 30 smartphones for 5G services. They are compatible with non-standalone 5G networks.

5G In India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the next-gen technology in India on October 1, 2022. The launch was done at the India Mobile Congress(IMC) event in 2022.
The largest telecom operators – Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have rolled out the 5G services in selected cities. Also, the third, Vodafone Idea, will even roll out soon.
